Amazon may soon be able to deliver Shake Shack to your house. The e-commerce giant
has partnered with Olo, an online restaurant ordering platform with corporate customers including Shake Shack, Chipotle, Five Guys, and Wingstop, to offer easy integration into Amazon Restaurants.
To be clear, none of those corporations have taken advantage of Amazon’s offer yet — Buca Di Beppo, a company that operates 90 Italian restaurants, is the first and only signee so far — but the opportunity for them to do so is now available.
So far, Amazon Restaurants — which allows users to order food and have it delivered in under an hour — hasn’t attracted major chain restaurants. Right now, the service is available in about 20 cities in the US including New York, Chicago, Seattle, Los Angeles, and Miami, but as with most Amazon products, that list will be expanded over time.
More importantly, Amazon Restaurants works with Alexa, which means we may be able to yell at an inanimate object, and food from Shake Shack will magically arrive minutes later. This is the future we’ve all been hoping for. Seamless may have some serious competition very soon. https://www.theverge.com/2017/9/22/16352264/amazon-restaurants-olo-shake-shack-delivery
